Your eyes are very important in the spiritual world because whatever you feast upon gets into your mind and gets replayed each day. For something to be pleasing you often have to look upon it.

The Bible says that the eyes are the light of the body. Well, this could also mean our desire or conscience. But still, whatever we allow our eyes to desire either lightens us or darkens us.

This is because whatever goes through your eyes becomes a constant memory compared to other parts of the body.

It is possible to have a covenant with your eyes not to look at anything lustfully.

And the devil has taken advantage of our visual senses so much that we no longer have any covenant with it on what is allowed

Don’t you find it interesting that John places the eyes on their own category from the flesh? The lust of the eyes then the lust of the flesh.

We can l, like Job, control our eyes. We can choose to close our eyes when we know that the thing we so much desire to look upon is not right before God.

Watch your eyes.
